The first Vauxhall VXR cars will be shown at this month’s British Motor Show – and they will be led by this blistering high-performance Monaro and a faster VX220.
VXR is Vauxhall’s new home-grown sports brand, and it will eventually spread across the entire range. But it is being launched amid a blaze of show publicity with two sports cars at the NEC show.
The Monaro VXR gets 380bhp from reworked heads and ECU, and a new exhaust, up 50bhp over the standard Australia-sourced model. 50 of the VXR coupés will be available initially, at a cost of £35,595.
The VX220 VXR has 220bhp, upgraded suspension and brakes suitable for track-day use. Vauxhall will sell 60 cars at first, and the range-topping roadster will sell for £29,995.
