Want to pretend you're a modern-day Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate? The Alfa Romeo Brera's sexier soft-top sister, the Spider, has gone on sale in the UK.

As with the Brera, there is a choice of three engines; a 2.2-litre four-cylinder petrol (£25,995), a 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel (£28,995) and a 3.2-litre V6 petrol (£31,250).

The V6, which comes with standard four-wheel-drive, is also available with an auto box for £32,700.

Like its coupe sibling, don't expect the Spider to be the best-handling car in the class. But do expect it to turn heads like little else that costs less than £100,000.
