New Spyker D12 gets W12 engine and 185mph top speed

The lavish Spyker D12 Peking to Paris SUV will go into production next year, three years after its launch at the 2006 Geneva motor show. The monster SUV, which uses a Volkswagen W12 engine and shares the ostentatious design with which the brand has become synonymous, has a claimed 0-60mph time of 5.0sec and a top speed of 185mph. >> See more pictures of the Spyker D12 Peking to ParisDespite the high specification and a confirmed price of £186,000, the firm says demand for the car continues ‘unabated’ in the current global economic crisis.The Dutch supercar company has also installed a new line at its Zeewolde factory to build cars more quickly and efficiently. Previously, individual Spykers were built by a team of workers; now the cars are constructed on a conventional production line.

Ah ha ha ha ha... Sorry, no, yeah, very nice car. Why are they making this exactly?

On a plus note, it doesn't look as bad as it could have done, but £186k. I'll have a Range Rover, an XKR, an Ariel Atom and some change thanks.
