The facelifted version of Volkswagen's Eos coupe-cabriolet will cost from £22,895, the company has confirmed.
The revised model, launched at the recent Los Angeles motor show ahead of it reaching UK showrooms in January 2011, is the latest in a long line of recent VW models to receive a Golf-style makeover.

This means it gets a re-designed front-end including a new headlight design incorporating LED daytime running lights, a new chrome-trimmed front grille and a lower, wider air intake at the bottom. New fog lights also feature.
Changes at the rear are also inspired by the Golf; its rear lights have been squared off, while the bumper has also been re-designed.

Changes to the interior are less substantial, however. Some material quality is improved and new leather trim options are offered, while there is also a new steering wheel and a new instrument panel.
New features include Light and Park Assist systems and keyless entry and start. The retractable hard-top roof can also be controlled by the wireless remote control.
The entry level model will be powered by a 120bhp 1.4 TSI petrol engine. Other petrol options include 158bhp 1.4 TSI and 207bhp 2.0 TSI units, while a 138bhp TDI is also offered.

Would that be the Renault that builds some of the best drivers cars currently on sale, have overseen the turn around of the basket case that was Nissan, produce the engine for the current F1 constructors champions. Or would that be the PSA group that have won the WRC constructors title for 8 of the last 10 years, or powered the WRC champion for the last 7. Have petrol and diesel engines used by Landrover, Jaguar, Ford, BMW, Volvo.
Seeing as most advances in automotive technology come through motorsport I would say VAG has a long way to go before it can claim technical competence over these brands, especially if you throw Fiat into the mix. The Fiat Group have a history of technical competence far greater than VAG, unless you are also going to dismiss Ferrari, Alfa, Maserati and Lancia's achievement's and Fiat produce some of the most advanced small engines on the planet.Re: VW reveals facelifted Eos
I am not interested in some local successes here and there.That is no argument. Look to their profitability and world marketshare. Renault, Peugeot and Fiat made all three big losses recently in this financial crisis period and made less cars in 2009 than 2008. They all have a huge gap in technological competence compared to VW; VW is going to tackle Toyota next year or the year after. Only Kia/ Hyundai is a serious competitor and a company as succesfull as VW.

Both French companys are doing well in China too and Renault are also very big in Korea as they own Samsung motors and in Russia too where Renault have a stake in Lada .
As for the Eos I think VW have made it look worse it was a lovely distinctive car before now it is just dull and boring .
