This is Nissan’s Los Angeles motor show launch: the Murano CrossCabriolet.
The firm is calling the car “the world’s first all-wheel-drive crossover convertible”. It says the Murano CrossCabriolet has room for four adults and luggage, even with its roof down, and a “premium” interior.

It’s due to go on sale next early next year, but there are no plans to bring the model to Europe.
The other models on Nissan's LA show stand will be the Ellure saloon concept and a new Quest minivan - both focused squarely on the US market - and the production version of the Leaf.

I like the idea its very unusual. Is it me or are they just trying to do what the BWM X6 did which was find a niche and get selling. The only issue is though the BMW X6 is alot easier to sell than a Nissan Murano Convertible. I think nissan will struggle to sell that in the UK to be honest but I do feel it will sell very well in the USA and in the Middle East in my opinion simply because they like big in your face cars and they have the weather to get away with such a vehicle. Also it is not the 1st convertible 4X4 the Land rover defender which was mentioned earlier and wasn't the suzuki rhino at one point a convertible as well

I remember seeing these (was going to post something about them, but you beat me to it too), they were quiet outrageous, a convertible RR?!! BUT, I really liked them. On Nissan, whilst they may not be innovators, they succeed in bringing the product to market in a pallatable way - and often make a runaway sales success of it too. Look at the Murano, the Rav4 and HR(T)V were there before, but the Nissan is the big seller. You have to give them credit for that alone surely.
