Ford has added its new turbocharged 1.6-litre Ecoboost petrol engine to its revised Mondeo range.
The engine produces 158bhp and delivers 15 per cent better fuel economy than the 2.0-litre 143bhp petrol version already in the range.
Ford claims an economy figure of 41mpg and 158g/km CO2, giving the new engine an extended range of up to 100 miles on a full tank over the 2.0 petrol unit.
Coupled with a six speed manual gearbox, the 1.6 Ecoboost engine helps produce a top speed of 134mph and 0-60mph time of 9.3sec.
The new engine is also available on Ford's C-Max range, and will be available on the S-Max and Galaxy.
On sale now, prices for the Ford Mondeo 1.6 EcoBoost start from £18,945.

Re: New 1.6 Ecoboost for Mondeo
+1
I had the regular use of a company Mondeo about a couple of years ago. It's an excellent car and I was particularly impressed with the car's chassis. As far as handling, ride and refinement were concerned the Mondeo was superior to my previous C Class Merc and SAAB 9-3. I'd even go as far as to say it gave a company BMW 5 Series I also had the regular use of a hard time. It's two main faults were, however, that it had lost a lot of the agility of the previous MKII model and that it is now so bloody wide drivers cannot move about within their lane should they want to in order to choose the best lines through a series of bends.

Indeed must off them . The Laguna is a decent size do not too big and a great car iff someone wants a car in that class that is not overgrown .

Great. Now they need to downsize the car back to the size of the Mk I Mondeo. The current car, and all it's competitors, is simply too big.
