"We have found that many of our AMG owners own Ducatis, so there’s a natural link between the two"

A special edition AMG with Ducati bike badging and styling influence will be the most tangible result of a marketing tie-up signed by the German car-maker and Italian bike-builder.

The special edition is likely to follow the form of the AMG specials tied-in with German watch-maker IWC in 2005 and 2008. Those CLS55AMG and CL63AMG featured special paint jobs, unique interior trim and leather and a special edition watch.

Initially the AMG/Ducatti tie-up will centre on test-drives at MotoGP events on Ducati bikes for AMG customers and car drives for bike owners.

“We have found that many of our AMG owners also own Ducatis, so there’s a natural link between the two companies,” says Mercedes.
