German sports car manufacturer Gumpert will launch its second production model at the Geneva motor show in March.
The design of the new car comes from Touring Superleggera, the firm behind the coachbuilt Bentley Continental ‘estate’ launched at last year’s Geneva show.

It is likely the new model will sit alongside the track-focused Apollo in Gumpert’s range rather than replace it, as Touring claims its brief was to add “space, liveability and comfort to Gumpert’s typical sheer performance attitude”.
“The result is a blend of very Italian sporty elegance and German high-end engineering,” Touring continued.
The two-seater ‘Fast Tourer’ will be known as the Gumpert Tornante by Touring. Touring claims it “opens a new class of automobiles born for the extremely dynamic and fast voyage”.

It will feature a new carbonfibre monocoque and a mid-mounted V8 engine, likely to be a development of the twin-turbo 4.2-litre V8 unit found in the Apollo. It will feature composite body panels.
