Subaru will launch a new crossover concept at next week’s Shanghai motor show.
The Suabru XV concept, seen here in this darkened teaser image, is claimed by Subaru to be “a new generation of crossover vehicle, blending exceptional SUV practicality with a fashionable form”.
Subaru has already used the XV name in the past 12 months. At last year’s Geneva motor show, it revealed a jacked-up version of the Impreza known as XV and based on the US-only Outback Sport.
The concept is more likely to borrow the sharp styling of the Impreza concept from last year’s LA motor show, rather than the production version of the new Impreza to be revealed in New York next week.
Subaru’s all-wheel-drive system will feature in the XV, while a boxer engine is also likely to appear.
