Ariel Motors will move into superbike production in 2012, with a £20,000 bespoke two-wheeler inspired by its four-wheeled Ariel Atom sports car.
Ariel boss Simon Saunders told Autocar that an unspecified Honda engine would power the superbike, which is previewed here in this official sketch. The Japanese firm also provides engines for the Atom.

Saunders, a superbike enthusiast, believes the superbike is the perfect foil for the Atom. “It has no negatives to production of the cars and the two will be built in the same philosophy,” he says.
Between 100-200 superbikes would be built per year by Ariel, a company which has its roots in bike production. Each model would be hand built to a customer’s own specifications, ensuring that each bike would be unique.
