The Alpina B3 GT3 Bi-Turbo Coupe has moved firmly into Porsche 911 GT3 territory with this motorsport-inspired special edition, unveiled at todayâs Tokyo motor show.
Just 99 examples of the B3 GT3 are being built to commemorate Alpinaâs win with its B6 GT3 model in the 2011 German GT Series. Each B3 GT3 comes equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six engine tuned to produce 402bhp. It can crack 0-62mph in just 4.6sec and reach a top speed of 186mph. Drive is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed ZF autoâ gearbox.

The B3 GT3 has undergone a thorough dynamic makeover over the standard B3 S. A titanium exhaust system with twin carbonfibre tailpipes contributes to both an 8bhp power hike and a âraspy soundâ.
A fully-adjustable coilover suspension system and a limited-slip differential are both standard and are derived from the B6 GT3 racer. New lightweight 20-spoke 19in forged alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres also feature as standard, along with a high-performance motorpsort braking system.
Styling-wise, the B3 GT3 sports several aerodynamic additions developed from the larger B6 racer. These include a carbonfibre front splitter, fixed rear wing and rear diffuser. The Alpina race car livery pictured here is optional, with black or white metallic paint offered as standard. The interior is trimmed with leather and Alcantara and features lightweight Recaro sports seats.
The B3 GT3 will cost from around £80,000 when it goes on sale in spring 2012. Of the 99 to be made, just 15 or so will come to the UK, while Germany and Japan will get 30 each. Production will start in January and last around six months.
