60 special edition Bentley Mulsannes created to celebrate Diamond Jubilee

Bentley will make 60 unique special edition versions of the Bentley Mulsanne to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Each car represents a year of her reign, the first of which is on show at the Beijing motor show.

Each model boasts a series of royal-inspired features over standard Mulsannes and have been created by Bentley’s exclusive Mulliner division. Mulliner created the Queen’s state limousine in 2002, and has an association with the royal family dating back to the 1760s. It is now a wholly owned Bentley subsidiary.

Exclusive features include gold embroidery for the headrests, veneered picnic tables for the rear cabin with a gold overlay, and special hide cushions for rear passengers. Two stainless steel sideplates also feature engraved with ‘Diamond Jubilee Edition’ in special Mulliner script.

A special red, white and blue theme runs throughout each models – the colours of the Union Flag – to highlight the car’s ‘Britishness’.

The launch also coincides with the opening of Bentley’s new Beijing dealership, its largest in Asia. China is Bentley’s largest market; it sold 1664 units in the country in 2011.

This is what Hyacinth Bucket would buy if she had the money. Now, if there was a matching tea cosy, I'd be tempted.

Cheap, chintzy and in bad taste "selling England by the pound" it reminds me of old Ford escort specials. What next the Lizzy II continental gt.
