Iconic racing sponsor Martini is displaying 14 of its racing cars at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The total value of the collection is thought to be over £11 million, perhaps explaining why just five of the iconic machines are taking part in the competitive element of the hillclimb.
The exhibition is the largest collection of Martini Racing cars ever assembled, with cars from Group B to a Jaguar XJ220 that raced in the Italian GT Championship celebrating the drinks company’s rich association with motor racing. Highlights include the 1971 Le Mans-winning 917k and the 911 GT3 Cup driven by Sébastian Loeb at this year’s Porsche Supercup.
Audi’s R15 TDI the 917k’s record for the longest distance covered at Le Mans in 24 hours in 2010, and Martini-Porsche racing cars went on to take Le Mans titles in 1976 and 1977.
Martini sponsored, mid-engined Lancia 037 rally cars competed in 1982. Walter Rohl helped the team secure the last WRC title won in a rear-wheel drive car before the Martini Lancia Delta Integrale went on to win the manufacturer’s championship six times between 1987 and 1992. This immense record remains unbroken, and the Delta Integrale responsible will line up in the Martini Paddock at Goodwood.
Other rarities include Colin Chapman’s 1979 Lotus 80 and the brutal ‘Moby Dick’ Porsche 935 raced by Jacky Ickx. Another more modern highlight is Colin McRae’s Martini Ford Focus WRC car.

Missing a Porsche 935/76 short tail
There were six different variants of the Porsche 935. Your picture - a 935/78 'Moby Dick' - is the last of those and I feel isn't as iconic as the earlier 935/76 short tail (the 2nd car). That's my iconic Martini Racing car:
But most people seem to prefer the 936/76 long tail:
But the most successful Martini Racing car of all time has to be the Porsche 936. All three of the original chassis cars built by Porsche won Le Mans in '76, '77 and '81 with Jacky Ickx driving:
