Nissan has released a single teaser image of a car it will be revealing at next week’s New York motor show.
The shadowy picture appears to show the rear of a GT-R, suggesting a new version could be unveiled. Although Nissan has not revealed any more information, insiders are suggesting it will be the current Nissan GT-R’s final facelift.

If it is indeed a facelifted model, we can expect minor exterior detail changes and a small increase in performance. The current car’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 produces 542bhp in standard form, but we know the engine is capable of handling much more – the Nismo-fettled GT-R produces 591bhp, for example.
Some have suggested that this New York GT-R will feature a hybrid engine, previewing the drivetrain for the next-generation GT-R, which is due in 2018. However, Autocar understands the next GT-R, which will have strong technical links to the GT-R LM Nismo Le Mans car of 2015, isn’t due to be shown until 2017.
