The Barcelona motor show has opened in Spain's second city and Autocar has been live at the show to bring you the best pics from the event.

Chief billing went to the saloon version of Hyundai's new i40. It was the only global premiere at 2011's running of the biannual motor show, but there were still European debuts for cars including the Audi Q3, which will be built by sister firm Seat at its Martorell plant in Barcelona.

Other cars on show included Volkswagen's new Golf cabriolet and Beetle models, Mercedes' new A-class concept and a special Audi A1 decked out in the colours of local football team FC Barcelona.
