The Mercedes-AMG C63 has gone on sale, priced from £59,795.
First revealed in September and presented to the public at the Paris motor show last week, the C63 is the second model to be placed under the new performance banner of Mercedes-AMG, joining the recently revealed GT.
That sub-£60,000 starting price gets you the C63 saloon, which features a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 469bhp and 479lb ft. The car's claimed to be capable of reaching 62mph in 4.1 seconds, and has a limited top speed of 155mph. Mercedes also states that the C63 saloon will average 34.5mpg and that it emits 192g/km of CO2.
The C63 estate, which costs from £60,995, is slightly slower to 62mph (at 4.2 seconds), returns 33.6mpg and emits 196g/km of CO2.
The C63's starting price means only a small premium is being charged over the old model, which cost £58,475.
Buyers can also opt for the C63 S, which sees output from the V8 engine grow to 503bhp and 516lb ft. The added power drops the 0-62mph sprint time in both models by 0.1 seconds, but has no effect on fuel economy or emissions. Prices for the C63 S start at £66,545 and £67,745, for the saloon and estate respectively.
A limited-time Edition 1 model, based on the C63 S, is also being offered. Featuring new red exterior accents and Nappa leather trim inside as well as an upgraded sound system, the Edition 1 costs £73,500 in saloon form, and £74,700 as an estate.
Orders can now be placed for the C63, with first deliveries expected in Spring of next year.
