Ford has announced it will reveal details of a major product launch in Europe at a live event in Amsterdam this week.
The event, called ‘Go Further’, will be held at the city’s Ziggo Dome on Thursday 6 September and will be hosted by Ford CEO Alan Mulally and Ford of Europe Chairman Stephen Odell.
Ford says it will reveal "new vehicles and technologies", with Odell stating that the event will reveal details of “one of the largest new product and technology rollouts in the history of Ford of Europe".
Although no further details have been released, the announcement is expected to include the reveal of the European market Ford Mondeo. So far, the car has only been seen in US specification, but Ford has previously confirmed it will be shown at this year's Paris motor show at the end of December.

Why buy a Mondeo when you can
Why buy a Mondeo when you can buy a base spec 3 series for much the same money ?
Because a BMW 3 series is
Because a BMW 3 series is much closer in size to a Focus. The Mondeo is somewhere between the 5 and 7 series in size now, huge buggers. Not a compact shopping car.
Herein lies Ford's problem
as pointed out MANY times on this forum
a/ The Mondeo is more 5 series size (as someone else has noted)
b/ You can get a Titanium X 2.0l diesel for less money than a base 316d ES, and that comes with options as standard, that if you include in the BMW would push the figure level up with and over the price of Ford's top spec Titanium X Sport (which then has more kit on it again)
Just to remind you, a base Mondeo is £18,100, a base 3 series is £24,880. Even the Zetec Business edition (which comes with touchscreen nav) is £20,600. Nav is a minimum £1,500 option on the BM if I am reading my websites correctly.
cos...
...the 3 is plain ugly; sorry. And even most obsessed BMW drivers are realising that other manufacturers are making cars that handle well but ALSO ride comfortably (esp. in the UK) - tho the new 3 series is better than the old models for overall handling/ride balance.
Ford really should consider
Ford really should consider using the Fusion badge in Europe, Mondeo has served the company well but carries a naff image.
They already have used the
They already have used the Fusion badge in Europe. It was an ugly Fiesta based thing with a naff image.
Wrong image?
Thought this was the new XFR,but it's just a Mondeo!, see what i mean about White cars?
