An estate version of the new Toyota Auris has been unveiled at the Paris motor show.
The Auris Touring Sports adds a wagon body which is 285mm longer than the hatchback to Toyota's C-segment family car, which will take on the Ford Focus estate and Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer.
The car will be the first estate car in its segment to be available with a hybrid drivetrain, alongside conventional petrol and diesel engine options.
The car is expected to use an updated version of the 1.8-litre petrol engine and electric motor used in the current five-door Auris, which uses a nickel-metal hydride battery set-up.
The Auris Touring Sports is the first estate version of the model, and Toyota is promising versatility, with a design that doesn’t compromise space and practicality.
The front-end design remains the same as the hatchback, but a roofrack, a rear spoiler, gloss black B-pillars, and chrome-accented trim set it apart from that model.
The bumper and tailgate have been redesigned, and new rear combination lamps sit below the new D-pillars and rear screen.

So this has the same engine / drivetrain, larger load space, better quality interior, lighter chassis, independent rear suspension and looks way better than the Prius? Looks like a winner to me!
