A new Canyon version of the Volkswagen Amarok will go on sale in spring 2013, and the large four-door pick-up could make it to the UK.
The Argentinian-built Amarok Canyon was first seen as a concept six months ago, and its positive response and feedback has led to Volkswagen bosses signing it off for production.
VW Commercial Vehicles chief Eckhard Scholz, unveiling the production version at the São Paulo motor show, said the Canyon was supposed to combine "a working machine with a sporty lifestyle vehicle".
Features of the Canyon include a bright red paint finish, special alloys, a row of four roof lights, roof bars and sledges stored in the flat-bed.

Sadly...
... with a 6 pot Diesel, it'll be £35k after VAT... too much for a Pick-Up in this country...
A six-pot?
I wouldn't have thought it would be a six-pot in the uk. VW commercial vehicles mostly use 2-litre four-pots these days, but in various states of tune. Or have you seen something to suggest otherwise?
4 or 6
Nah - just figured that the Amorak gets a dubious write-up for lack of low down torque c.f. the 2.5 and 3 litre(+) lumps that are found rivals products - figure it's just a matter of time before a 3.0TDi version is announced...
I quite fancy a truck as a repalcement for current car, but somehow i can't get enthused about the Amorak... prefer the Hilux and new D-Max (Ranger is nice too, but drinks like a fish...!)
Why are there 2 coffins in
Why are there 2 coffins in the back? A little odd.

Well, people don't want the traditional long estate cars with big windows in the side these days. And its a lot more sociable getting buried with a friend.
