These forums exist to provide somewhere for Autocar readers and like-minded enthusiasts to talk cars. They were created in the spirit of goodwill, because we value freedom of expression, and particularly what you, our users, think. And in order to maintain that spirit, we’ll be enforcing certain rules on any and all threads added here; they’re listed below.

Please take the time to read these rules before you begin posting. Abide by them and you’ll enjoy complete freedom to chew the fat with anyone and everyone in the motoring cosmos who cares to stop by; break them and we’ll delete your posts, or ban you from the site entirely. It’s that simple.

  1. This is not some anonymous place where you can to hurl insults around; it’s intended as somewhere to gas with other car fans, and as such, we’re all responsible for keeping it clean, legal and generally above board. Any opinion, no matter how forthright, is welcome, but defamatory or libellous untruths, racism, sexism, uncalled-for aggression or general abuse aimed at any individual, company or organisation will be removed.
  2. Offensive language will not be tolerated. When you’re posting, imagine you’re sharing a room with hundreds of people, most of whom you may never have met. Deal them the courtesy and politeness you’d extend someone when meeting them face to face.
  3. Don’t post protected or copyrighted material, be it photographic, video, or any other kind. Make sure anything you post has either been created by you, or by an individual or agency that has provided permission to publish it.
  4. Don’t post any material that could be deemed inappropriate for general consumption, and don’t post links to it elsewhere. The golden rule is if it’s something you wouldn’t be happy showing your kids, don’t post it here.
  5. Don’t post any evidence of dangerous or reckless road driving, and don’t glorify or condone the attitudes that cause it. Recording yourself doing 100mph on a B-road or donuts in a supermarket car park isn’t clever, and posting the resulting film on a forum where impressionable minds can witness it is even more stupid.
  6. This isn’t a business forum. Anyone using it to solicit business of any kind will be warned, and if they persist, excluded. If you’ve got a car to sell, feel free to use our classified section. Otherwise, do your pitching, hawking, and advertising elsewhere.
  7. Members must not register more than once, nor submit the same or similar posts to more than one area of the forums. If you’re posting a new topic, make sure you’ve checked that it’s not being discussed elsewhere. Duplicate registrations, threads or posts will be deleted.
