A British company has unveiled a revolutionary tool for monitoring and invoicing the amount of power used to charge electric vehicles.
Called EBConnect, the system will be installed in all Elektrobay charging stations, of which there are already 160 across the UK.

The technology, which the company claims is a world first, has debuted at the Norwegian zero-emission exhibition, EVS 24, and allows the user to choose from a number of payment methods.
These include a “pay-as-you-go” service that uses a personalized keyfob, or costs can be automatically added to a consumer’s household utility bill. Users can also pay via text message or over the phone.
Elektobay, the company that has pioneered the system, said that it is essential for the development of a charging network, which the UK government is keen to implement.
Calvey Taylor-Haw, managing director for Elektromotive said: “We are working hard to increase our network of charging stations around the globe.
“New technologies such as EBConnect are helping to facilitate the transition to electric-powered passenger and commercial vehicles.”
