Peugeot 407 Coupé spotted on the streets

If you were holding your breath for a surprise from Peugeot's 407 Coupé, breathe out now. Autocar spies caught this undisguised production version testing in France and it remains virtually identical to the 407 Prologue, which appeared at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

Some may lament the loss of the 406 Coupé's elegance, but the new car follows its saloon and wagon siblings with gaping front grille and lengthy overhangs.

When the car goes on sale in the UK next January expect it to feature the more powerful engines from the saloon, including the 160bhp 2.2-litre and 204bhp 3.0-litre V6 petrol units, and the new 2.7 HDI diesel developed with Ford.
