First, the beauty of home or office charging means that you have the potential to start almost every journey with a full battery – something you can’t ever 100% rely on with a petrol car.

Then, factor in the fact that even a company car driver doing 12,000 miles a year is only driving an average of between 20 and 40 miles a day (perfect for school runs, the commute to the office, and maybe ticking off the evening food shop) and it’s easy to see how you can do up to a week of standard trips on just one charge.

Audi e-tron GT: out on the road

It can go the distance, then. But, as any discerning user-chooser knows, spending quality time in your company car isn’t just about getting from A to B – it’s about having some fun while you do it. Well, with 40 years of Vorsprung Durch Teknik DNA coursing through its veins, the Audi e-tron GT takes company car driving to new heights.

But when it comes to running costs, that’s where the Audi e-tron GT becomes a really compelling company car choice.

Using home charging with an average electric rate of 34p per kWh, the Audi e-tron GT costs between £91 and £94 per month to run for a driver doing 10,000 miles per year, compared to £142 per month for a petrol-powered Audi A6. That’s an instant fuel saving of £576 per year.

When you consider that we typically do most of our home charging overnight (when your car is parked up anyway, and electric rates are lower), you could be saving even more. Using an EV-friendly overnight tariff of 17p, for example, you could spend as little as £38 per month or £456 per year to run your Audi e-tron GT.
