Ex-Bentley design boss is in line to replace Peter Schreyer as head of Hyundai and Kia design

Former Bentley design boss Luc Donckerwolke is being lined up to replace Peter Schreyer at Hyundai and Kia, according to a new report.

Donckerwolke left his previous post as director of design at Bentley earlier this month, to be replaced by Stefan Sielaff.

While Hyundai and Kia have yet to confirm his appointment, Automotive News Europe reports that Donckerwolke will now move to Korea following a transition period, ready to take over from Schreyer when he retires in two years' time.

Donckerwolke’s design credits include the Lamborghini Gallardo and Murciélago, and the Audi R8 Le Mans prototype racer. Work on the upcoming Bentley Bentayga will also have been at an advanced stage by the time of Donckerwolke's departure.

Originally appointed at Bentley in 2012, Donckerwolke has previously worked at Lamborghini and Seat. He joined the VW Group in 1992, working at Audi.

Schreyer, meanwhile, was responsible for the original Audi TT, though his more recent credits include the Kia K9 and Hyundai Tucson.

Is this his old Bentley polo

Is this his old Bentley polo neck or his new Hyundai/Kia polo neck?

Second kill

Kia / Hyundai strikes again and the Volkswagen Group loses another design figure. Not that it would make much difference. Any designer can keep churning out copies of the copies.
