Nissan has announced that its European sales have risen by 35 per cent this year, compared with the same period last year.
Buoyed by the launch of new Micra as well as strong sales of its Qashqai, Nissan sold 235,543 vehicles between January and April, an increase of more than 61,000 units compared with 2010.

April, too, gave the manufacturer its biggest EU market share yet, with 53,840 vehicles sold – a market share of 3.8 per cent. This also represents an increase of over 20 per cent compared with the same period the previous year.
Nissan vice president of sales operations Bernard Loire said, “All of our major European markets have shown an impressive year-on-year improvement in the January to April period, including Russia, UK and Spain where Nissan is now the top-selling Japanese brand.”
