The Mitsubishi Outlander, Citroen C-Crosser and Peugeot 4007 triplets are to get a facility dedicated to the Russian market and ready to begin full production in 2011. Mitsubishi and PSA will create a factory situated in Kaluga, south-west of Moscow. It will eventually produce up to 160,000 vehicles per year, including the SUVs and a new medium-sized vehicle for Peugeot and Citroen alone. The Outlander/4007/C-Crosser that will begin production at the Russian factory will be freshly updated models; all three cars are due to receive heavy revisions for a mid-life facelift.Sources maintain that the project is a result of the massive growth in the Russian market, and that the new plant will not affect production of the European-market PSA-Mitsubishi SUVs.
