A new 2.0-litre petrol engine will be added to the range, improving fuel consumption and CO2 emissions over the 2.0-litre petrol model it replaces. Other petrol engines include updated versions of the 1.8-litre and 2.5-litre units.

The 2.2-litre diesel engine is available with three different power outputs ranging from 127bhp to 178bhp. This unit also features improved emissions and fuel consumption over the model it replaces.

New features added to the range include pivoting adaptive front lighting system and hill-launch assist. The Mazda 6 range will go on sale in Europe this spring priced from around £17,000.

I'm just glad they haven't given it those hideous and ridiculous looking 'leaf vein' coutours down the side panels like they have on the '5'.

Much smarter and more distinctive, a very definite improvement on the current version which has always looked a bit too bland.

I think I preferred it before the facelift. It was sportier.
I'm with you there. It seems to be more bland than before. I really dislike the bar running across the grille - on the lower spec models pre-facelift I really liked the black effect grill and couldn't understand why the "sport" models came with cheap looking plastic bars across the grill.
