The Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Special Edition will go on sale here in July

The Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Special Edition has been unveiled at the New York motor show today.

The new variant has a distinctive new exterior look replete with bright silver detailing, and is described by Land Rover’s global brand director John Edwards as, “probably the most luxurious specification yet offered on the Discovery 4”.

Available only in Santorini Black, the new Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Special Edition has silver finishing to the full-length roof rails, Noble-plated door mirror caps, silver bonnet script and tailgate badge, a bright finisher along the sides and tailgate, a stainless steel bumper tread strip and a bright metal ‘HSE Luxury’ badge.

The grille treatment is the opposite of the existing style, with the grille surround and fender vents finished in silver and the grille vanes in the body colour. The Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Special Edition rides on a set of 20-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior of the HSE Luxury Edition is clad in premium Ebony or Ivory leather. Extra Windsor leather is applied to the facia topper, door top rolls and door trims, and the cabin is trimmed with Zebrano wood, which is exclusive to the HSE Luxury Edition.

5.0 V8 option?

I'll bet not. Just the same old TDV6 with a few extra pieces of trim.

Why not just call it the Range Rover Discovery? This would seem to be aimed at the same target market.

I remember in 1994 I paid around £28-29k for a top specification ES Auto, surely £56k now is about the same if you add inflation? For what is a significantly better car. I'd also add if people will pay a premium for your product over the competition then you're doing something right.
