An aesthetically tweaked Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Logan MCV are available now

The refreshed Dacia Sandero range is on sale now. Prices start from £5995, meaning the model retains its title of Britain's most affordable new car.

Design

That figure buys the regular Sandero model, which sports new headlight clusters with LED daytime running lights, a restyled front bumper and a new, more prominent grille. There are new tail-lights at the back, while different materials and more practical storage areas have been introduced inside.

These changes have also been applied to the more rugged Sandero Stepway and the estate-bodied Logan MCV. These models are priced from £8795 and £6995 respectively.

Engines and gearboxes

A new 74bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine has been added to the range, with Dacia claiming it will be the most fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engine on offer.

The current car's 89bhp turbocharged three-cylinder engine is retained, as is the option of an automated manual transmission.

Trim and specs

Three trim levels are offered: Access Ambiance and Lauréate. The Sandero and Logan MCV can be specced in all trims, whereas the Sandero Stepway is offered in just Ambiance or Lauréate form.

Access comes as standard with electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assis and emergency brake assist. The car sits on 15in steel wheels with hubcaps.

Above Access is Ambiance, which adds air conditioning, electric front windows, AUX and USB ports, a DAB radio, Bluetooth and remote central locking. An optional Height Adjustment Pack can be added for £50, which brings adjustability to the driver’s seat, steering wheel and front seatbelt height.

At the top of the range is Lauréate trim. This adds a satellite navigation system housed within a 7.0in touchscreen and rear parking sensors. A reversing camera and hill start assist can also be optioned.

Would like it if they made a small liftback in the style of the Supernova / Solenza, but with Logan styling. A competitor to the Skoda Rapid / SEAT Toledo.

Amazing

Still half the price of its automotive look alike and equivalent Volkswagen Polo and most probably twice as much reliable and cheap to run and own.
