Star ride at Abu Dhabi's Ferrari themed park unveiled

These are the first pictures of the Ferrari F430 Spider based rollercoaster that will be the centrepiece of the Ferrari World theme part in Abu Dhabi.

Set to open in the second half of this year, there will be 20 rides and attractions at Ferrari World, including two rollercoasters.

The F430 Spider pictured is from the so-called GT rollercoaster, which is described as a ‘racing coaster’. It sends two 'competing' carriages 'along twisting parallel tracks on a race to the finish line' according to Ferrari.

Given that the 'result' of this 'race' is pre-determined, why didn't they model the carriages on the F2002 rather than the F430???
