McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen topped the timesheets in today’s second free practice session for the Turkish Grand Prix.
Kovalainen led for most of the session, which saw several drivers struggling to cope with tyre graining from the softer 'option' Bridgestones.
Renault’s Fernando Alonso and BMW’s Robert Kubica completed the top three, while Rubens Barrichello was the fastest Brawn GP driver in eighth.
Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton spun his McLaren twice and posted the 13th quickest time, just behind current series leader Jenson Button.
In the morning session, Williams driver Nico Rosberg maintained his impressive pace in practice sessions this year by setting the fastest time, just ahead of Hamilton and Jarno Trulli’s Toyota.
