BTCC race winner Rob Collard will return to the championship driving a BMW 1 Series for West Surrey Racing (WSR) in 2015.
Collard has raced for WSR for six seasons, claiming six wins and 35 podiums with the team. He finished sixth in the championship last season.
The 40-year-old will be team-mate to triple world champion Andy Priaulx and Sam Tordoff. His signing confirms that 2014 BTCC champion Colin Turkington will not race for the WSR team. His departure has been put down to the ending of the team’s sponsorship deal with eBay.
“WSR and I have had some great memories together and I believe there are many more to come,” said Collard. “I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel during testing over the coming week.”
Turkington is still believed to be working on a deal to stay in the BTCC.
