Just 21 examples of the Lamborghini Huracan-based supercar will roll out from the Modena factory

Luxury Italian marque Ares Design has revealed its Lamborghini Huracán-based supercar, the Panther ProgettoUno, in an official video.

The clip shows the £461,000 car, which takes styling inspiration from iconic supercars of the 1970s and 1980s, putting its 641bhp 5.2-litre V10 engine to use on roads in the countryside near Ares Design’s base in Modena, Italy.

Just 21 examples of the Panther will be built by the design house, headed by former Lotus boss Dany Bahar. Ares Design is producing the model as the first of several custom design creations that use the Huracán’s platform. Production has already begun.

The car’s design is influenced by the De Tomaso Pantera, an exotic Italian supercar that was produced from 1971. Its fold-down headlights and rear buttresses are clear nods to that car’s shape, but the Panther receives modern touches such as large-diameter wheels and handle-free doors. It also features Pirelli P Zero rubber wearing Formula 1-inspired coloured strips.

Inside, the Panther sports a retro-styled dashboard equipped with digital instruments, while the seats are coated with Alcantara and bespoke leather. A purposely developed high-definition Daniel Hertz audio system is also installed and is claimed to be a world first for the firm.

The Panther produces 641bhp - a 39bhp increase over the standard Huracán - which is transmitted via a “lightning-fast” seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the wheels. This allows the supercar to reach 62mph from a standstill in 3.1sec and power on to a top speed of over 202mph.

Ares Design has now begun producing Panther models at its Modena facility. The site will also handle production of Ares’ growing range of offerings, which recently expanded with Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Bentley Mulsanne-based models. Bahar’s company is also creating 53 bespoke Land Rover Defenders in conjunction with British engineering firm JE MotorWorks.

For half that?

For half that you could have a known quality, a car that been around for a while, developed, this car has what you'd call a bespoke body on it, so the people this is aimed at will buy it because it's different looking, but it's not nearly half a million, it's just not that special.

It’s a Huracan!!!!

It’s nothing vastly different shape wise, it looks like a revamped Pantera...!

Business Brilliance

whilst major producers are trying every day to plough a new furrow, along comes a clever genious because everything is so simple and thats the genious. Globally probably about 350,000 car nutters with sufficient dosh to tosh. The greed of having "the only one" and as an investment like a Picasso it is a no brainer. Brilliant, why didnt I think of that lol - seriously I wish DB all the success he deserves, apprenticeship well served and now time to make the deepest richest fun furrow of all..dream job
