The new Lexus GS450h petrol electric hybrid is now on sale in the UK, with prices starting from £38,015.
The 450h - which has already found fame as the car of Conservative leader David Cameron - uses a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine mated to an electric motor to provide V8-like performance but with low C02 emissions (186g/km) and 35.8mpg economy.
The top-of-the-line 450h SE-L version, which comes with loaded with kit including a 14-speaker hi-fi and touchscreen sat-nav, costs £46,765 - undercutting the V8-powered 430 by nearly £400.
