New limited-run machine will be heavily modified Jaguar, and is set to feature a 670bhp engine

Lister Cars has released the first images of its forthcoming LFP, based on the Jaguar F-Pace SVR – and has promised that it will be “the world’s fastest SUV.”

The reborn British company recently showcased a development version of the Lister Thunder, a heavily reworked Jaguar F-Type R that is the first in a series of models based on Jaguar Land Rover. The firm’s ultimate plan is to produce a new bespoke Lister Storm.

While Lister has only teased the new SUV in a tweet saying it is ‘coming soon’, the F-Pace lineage of the machine can clearly be seen in the accompanying image.

Lawrence Whittaker – who bought the firm in 2013 – recently told Autocar that it has begun work on an F-Pace SVR conversion, which could have as much as 670bhp. For comparison, the F-Pace SVR will feature a 542bhp 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine.

While the F-Type R-based Thunder will be limited to 99 models, the as-yet-unnamed SUV is set to feature a larger production run of 250 cars.

The pratt above that makes

The pratt above that makes note of a "second rate tuner" clearly has not one iota of knowledge, Lister are a fully fledged sports car company, that produces/Produced cars that are still used in racing, they have recently completed the build process on more classic cars, and sold the lot in about a week - LW knows exactly what he is doing, and is willing to imput the money to do whatever it takes to keep the brand at the fore of sports automotive build. With a new production facility, and a past history and furture plans, the brand will go from strength to strength - so, why dont you keep you stupid and ill informed comments to yourself, they make you out to be really stupid.

a) The word is 'prat'. b) Still used in racing? Erm, so? So are Venturis, Allards, Lotus 7s and mk2 Escorts. c) The 'brand' hasn't been at the forefront since the 1950s, oh the Lister Storm? Well if you know anything about racing you'll know it's cyclical, costs escalate and classes implode before regrouping, when the Lister Storm triumphed in FIA GT it was a down period when credible competition had deserted the class. d) So should you.
