The next generation of Renault’s supermini will carry dramatic Dezir-inspired styling cues when it makes its public debut at the Paris show in autumn 2012.
Renault sales and marketing boss Steve Norman told Autocar, “The Dezir directly inspired the Clio 4. We’re doing everything to make it look as close as possible [to the concept].”
Other insiders say entry-level Clios will feature a ‘stretched’ stance. “Even the basic Clio 4s will look dramatic,” said one source.
Design boss Laurens van den Acker drew inspiration from the taut lines of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage; Steve Norman’s own Aston spent time in the studio.
