Mitsubishi’s Outlander will cost £16,999 when sales start at the beginning of next year.
Sitting on a modified Evo VIII platform, the crossover gets an all-wheel-drive system similar to its rally-bred cousin. Only one engine is available at launch, a new 2.4-litre petrol four-cylinder, mated to an auto ’box, developing 158bhp and 158lb ft of torque. This translates to 0-60mph in 11.2sec and a top speed of 112mph.
