An image of the new Roewe MG6 has appeared on the internet, ahead of its official unveiling at the Shanghai Motor Show.
The car is based on the underpinnings of the Roewe 550, but has a fastback rear end and a sharper, sportier nose.
There’s a hint of SEAT Ibiza about the design and the car rides on chunky five-spoke alloys.
Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) owns the rights to the MG brand and it is rumoured that the MG6 could be sold in Europe.
Engines are likely to be the same as those offered in the Roewe 550, including a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
