Shelby America, Carroll Shelby’s Vegas-based tuning arm, has revealed a Ford Mustang with more than 1000bhp at the New York motor show.
Called the Shelby 1000, two versions of the Mustang will be offered - a street legal 950bhp version running on standard fuel and an S/C track version rated at over 1100bhp.
The beefed-up 5.4-litre V8 gets a new supercharger and internals, including crank, plus flowed head, revised cooling and exhaust. To cope with the power, the Mustang also sports an uprated driveshaft and fully reworked suspension.
Including the donor Mustang GT500, the cost is estimated at the equivalent of £126k. Just 50 of the most powerful cars will be built.

Re: 1100bhp Mustang revealed
1100BHP in a car with a live rear axle?! That would be terrifying, imagine what the torque would do the road! ;-) you would almost need to replace the tyres just about everytime you drive it, im sure it will get .4MPG to. on that note, this car is so pointless, i like it alot haha
Re: 1100bhp Mustang revealed
You might want to wait for this one though... maybe even available in right hand drive by the sounds of it - I've always had a bit of a soft spot for these cars, but this new design is looking good........
...and with indpendent rear suspension!!!!! Woohoo!

Contender for quickest destruction of rear tyres?
