This week’s lead front cover story is the new McLaren P1, the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1. This week's magazine has the full story, plus a collection of memories from Andrew Frankel on our exclusive first test in the original F1.
We also have all the pictures and details of the significant revisions to the Aston Martin DB9, changes which have also resulted in the Virage being killed off.
Elsewhere, there's the full story of the revolutionary BMW concept that heralds the firm’s first front-drive model, the first details of a planned Kia hot hatch plus all the details on a host of new models that will be unveiled at this year’s Paris motor show, including concepts from Lexus and Smart.
Our first drive review section is kicked off by a first test of BMW’s new three-cylinder engine, and also stars the new Seat Toledo, Kia Cee’d SW, Volvo S60 Polestar and Suzuki Splash. We also test Mercedes C63 AMG and Audi S6 wagons against each other, and devote the full eight-page road test to the new Hyundai Santa Fe.
Elsewhere, Steve Sutcliffe reports on the progress with our Toyota GT86 project car, which has been tweaked and taken to the race track for evaluation in the heat of competition, while Matt Prior joins Gordon Murray as he and a group of friends test their latest creations – soapbox racers that have no engine, no suspension and cost just £100.
Our long-term test car updates include the arrival of a Hyundai i30, plus latest reports on the Mazda CX-5, Ford Focus 1.0-litre and Honda Civic.
Meanwhile, James Ruppert offers buying advice on Volvo’s 3-series rival, Vicky Parrott tells you how to save £3k on Ford Mondeos and Nic Cackett finds the best of the new car bargains available.

As if by pure coincidence the McLaren Automotive Facebook page is stating that they have a "massive announcement incoming today" and to check back at 4:45pm. MegaMac, P12, whatever you want to call it, I'd guess some more details are coming in this afternoon.

The 918 and F Type are hardly worthy of such big news. It's not like we haven't seen them already. And the Cayman's only going to look like the new Boxster with a roof.
I can only think it could be the new McLaren or Ferrari. Or something left-field which we've not known anything about. Or the final unveiling of the production BMW i3 or i8.
