Executive saloon updated with Corolla-style front end and revamped infotainment system

The Toyota Camry has been updated with a series of interior and exterior tweaks, less than two years after it went on sale.

The hybrid-only saloon - which made its return to the UK in 2019 after a 14-year absence as a replacement for the Avensis - will go on sale in its facelifted form in early spring 2021, with prices to be announced nearer the time.

The Camry now more closely resembles its big-selling Toyota Corolla sibling, with a revised front bumper and grille that makes it look lower and wider. Two new alloy wheel designs will be introduced as well, with a choice between 17in or 18in.

The most significant change comes inside, where the current Camry's integrated infotainment touchscreen makes way for a 9.0in freestanding unit like that of the Corolla, Toyota RAV4 and new Toyota Yaris

The infotainment system itself has been upgraded, with Toyota claiming faster software and input response times. As before, it can be operated using a combination of physical buttons and touch controls.

Exact trim specifications are yet to be confirmed for the 2021 car, but beige and black leather upholstery options will be offered alongside new wood- and titanium-style finishes for the instrument panel.

The Camry will likely continue to be available in both Design and Excel trims, with prices starting from around £32,000 - a slight increase on the current model.

Safety equipment fitted as standard includes lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, road sign assistance and intersection turn assistance, which detects vehicles or pedestrians crossing the car's path when it's turning at a junction.

Shame Toyota don't sell an estate version, I think it would be quite appealing.

Doesn't look dull to me, I think it's a handsome saloon, a large hatch like an Octavia or Mondeo would probably sell better in the UK than a saloon but I think this is infinitely more interesting and less dull than all the SUVs that frequent these pages. I did see one at the dealer when I went to look at a supra on the forecourt, which I think looks amazing, and I thought the Camry a great looker.

The Toyota Camry is the smartest car you can buy, will still be running in 20 years time, reliable, solid construction and will probably outlive the original owner so amazing 2nd finds...

All of the hive minded mouth breathers saying its dull and boring do not live in the real world. I pick dull over being stranded on the side of a smart motorway in my korean suv waiting to be rear ended. Bizarre that in the US Toyotas rule because quality is valued over there but here in curtain twitching keep up with the jones’s UK people buy overpriced fancy unreliable panzer cruisers and Solihull sheds by the droves.

Some issues I do have with this car, it suffers from typical Toyota UK bizarre product cannibalization, this car is a replacement for the ancient but reliable UK built Avensis yet Toyota have the new bigger UK built Corolla hatchback estate and Turkish built Corolla saloon . I understand people want a bigger more ‘luxurious’ saloon but TMG sell the virtually identical Lexus ES300 which recently replaced the more expensive GS range and Unlike in the US the ES is very close in price to the Camry here in the UK

Toyotas odd pricing does not stop there , highish spec 1.5 115 ps hybrid yaris sells for around £23k but for only 5 grand more you can buy the 260ps 4wd insane GR Yaris..

Looks slightly angry for a Toyota, the undercoat paint isn't doing it any favours, might look a lot better in Black so it can channel some of that inner anger.

Some may say its dull but I bet those that do buy it will be really happy with ownership experience.
