What’s new?
The cheapest way into B-class ownership is this petrol B150. Only at £18k for this SE version it’s not cheap.
The SE receives 16-inch alloys, rear electric windows and extra body-coloured exterior trim.
What’s it like?
Typical Mercedes inside — luxurious plastic and brushed aluminium trim. But performance is weak, as the engine struggles for pace.
The five-speed manual ’box is slick, which is good, because it’ll be in regular use to keep the revs near the 5200rpm power peak.
Should I get one?
No. The B180 CDi diesel might be £1000 more expensive, but the engine is far easier to live with.
