The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is poised for a comeback, it has been revealed at today’s Geneva motor show. The American SUV brand is reviving the iconic nameplate for a premium challenger to the Range Rover.
Jeep says there is space for the brand to grow upmarket, and see an “uber SUV” costing between $65,000 and $100,000 as a natural extension. The car would be targeted at the North America, Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern markets, and is unlikely to be engineered in right-hand drive.
The announcement reflects the trend of SUVs moving upmarket. Such a model would need to have improved NVH and feature a plusher interior.
