The new Mazda MX-5 Venture Edition features an upgraded specification and interior trim

Mazda has introduced a new special edition of the MX-5. The Mazda MX-5 Venture Edition is available as a soft-top or roadster coupe and features an upgraded specification and interior trim and exclusive exterior colours.

Based on the Mazda MX-5 SE and Sport Tech models, the Venture is available as a 1.8 MZR Soft-top (SE) and a 2.0 MZR Roadster Coupe (Sport Tech) and gets a dozen items of additional equipment over the standard versions.

The extra kit includes light gun metal 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, chrome front grille, piano black fashion bars and ‘Venture Edition’ badging.

The interior tweaks include Havana Brown heated leather seats, a leather steering wheel and hand brake with contrasting grey stitching, matching door trim, climate control air-conditioning, piano black dashboard accents, alloy pedals and, for the first time on MX-5, satnav. The Sanyo TomTom system features a fully integrated 5.8-inch touchscreen, plus iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Mazda MX-5 Venture will be available in three colours: Metropolitan Grey Mica and two colours exclusive to this special edition, Radiant Ebony Mica and Crystal White Pearlescent.

Only 250 examples of the Venture Edition soft-top and 550 of the Venture Edition roadster will be available in the UK. Prices for the 1.8 variant start at £18,995, with the 2.0 available from £22,285.

Re: New Mazda MX-5 variant unveiled

Looks okay but I'd rather take mine in the basic 1.8 spec, without the whistles and bells. Less is definitiely more in the case of the MX5.

It's a shame you can't buy them with steel wheels any more.
