The Citroën C1 is to have its entry price cut by £700 to £7995 when the facelifted model goes on sale in April this year.

Citroën has revealed the 2012 C1 to the press at the Brussels motor show today, revealing a subtle but clear update to the successful seven-year-old city car. Product manager for the C1, Francois Dabadie, stated that it had been his intention "to keep the C1’s fun character but also to distance it more from the Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107 siblings."
Dabadie also stated that the next generation of the C1 would not arrive until 2014, and that the company was happy with how competitive the current C1 is. It remains the biggest-selling Citroën model in the UK, with over 80,000 units sold since its 2005 launch.
The most significant updates to the new car are the addition of LED lights, new cloth trim and new body colours. The three current trim levels, VT, VTR and VTR+ will remain the same, but the higher-specced models are unlikely to get the same level of price drop that the base model will benefit from. Instead, expect prices for the higher-specced VTR and VTR+ to remain at around £9000 and £9500 for the three door VTR and VTR+ models, with five door models costing around £300 more.
