After plenty of disguised pictures, here's the first 'proper' glimpse of the new Honda Civic

The new Honda Civic, displayed for the first time at the Frankfurt motor show, evolves the dramatic styling of its predecessor.

The new Civic gets rear LED light clusters that are sculpted in the shape of wings. They are joined together by a higher-set bar, which splits the rear windscreen.

The new design should also prove to be more aerodynamic and Honda claims F1 engineers have been used on the project to ensure the car has a drag coefficient as low as possible. Honda insiders have also hinted that visibility will also be improved, which should be helped by the higher positioning of the bar.

Hours of work in the Honda wind tunnel has improved performance, reduced fuel consumption and resulted in an exceptionally quiet interior, according to Honda.
