Toyota will begin exports of its British-built Toyota Avensis to Japan next month.
The Japanese firm has taken the decision to offer the estate version of the Avensis in its home market following “demand for European styling and engineering from Japanese customers”.

Japanese buyers will be able to get the Avensis Tourer with a 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox. Initially, 750 cars per month will be shipped from Britiain to Japan.
The Avensis, which is exclusively built at Toyota’s Burnaston, Derbyshire plant, is already sold in 47 export markets. Toyota Motor Manufacturing chief Katsunori Kojima said the decision by Toyota to ship the Avensis east was a “vote of confidence” in its UK plant.
