A real-world trial of 100 General Motors EN-V two-seat electric ‘pod’ cars is being planned for late 2012.
The trial will move development of the EN-V urban transport pod, first shown at the Shanghai Expo last year, into a new phase.

GM plans to finesse the styling, develop the sophisticated network communication system and engineer an alternative powerpack to replace the two-wheel Segway ‘skateboard’ used in the concepts with a more conventional three-wheel or four-wheel set-up.
GM wants to test the cars in a one-square-mile site free of other vehicles, such as a ground-up new city or Olympic village.
