Official tuned version of the Evora features in Geneva as part of new Lotus customisation programme

Lotus will reveal details of a new customisation programme for its cars alongside this Mansory version of the Evora, which currently features at the Geneva motor show.

Lotus says the Evora is not be a facelift, but instead shows a “taste of the future of Lotus product customisation”. The Geneva car “is merely the first toe in the water and a showcase of the potential future”, the firm said in a statement.

Swiss tuner Mansory looks set to be announced as Lotus’s partner in its future customisation programme, given its involvement in the Geneva show car. It has a recent history in tuning British cars, although its designs are often garish, this is particularly evident in its customisation of the Rolls-Royce Ghost.

The Mansory Evora for Geneva sports a much more aggressive front-end, inspired by Lotus’s five new sports cars from last year’s Paris motor show. This front-end is also likely to be adopted by the upcoming Evora facelift as Lotus design boss Donato Coco believes the current design is “too weak” for a modern sports car.

Other features of the Mansory Evora include the addition of lots of carbonfibre for the exterior. It is used for the roof, front splitter and air intakes, rear diffuser, engine cover, mirror housings and fixed rear spoiler. New alloys also feature, as does the large single-pipe centrally mounted exhaust sported on the Evora S model.

Details on any changes to the interior, which is likely to be heavily upgraded, and its V6 powertrain have not been revealed.
