Special edition Cee'ds and Sorento models added to Kia's line-up

Kia’s VR-7 Cee'd special editions are now available with the firm’s 1.6 CRDi engine.

Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the engine produces 89bhp and 173lb ft of torque and has a claimed combined fuel economy figure of 65.7mpg. The sprint to 60mph takes 13.5 secs, with top speed achieved at 107mph.

The VR-7 specials come loaded with standard kit, including Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, reverse parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels and heated door mirrors and offers a saving of up to £815, over the entry-level ‘1’ model it is based on.

Prices for the VR-7 diesel cee’d start from £13,420, with the pro_cee’d priced from £13,220.

Kia has also announced new top-of-the-range ‘Sat-Nav’ versions of the Sorento SUV, which adds integrated sat-nav, uprated sound systems and a reversing camera.

The company’s ‘KX-3 Sat-Nav’ is also available as a 4x4 with a 2.2 CRDi engine and a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.

Is it special edition day or just bored executives with no staff due to snow thinking "I know I will devise a new special edition for the hell of it" In all honesty it is probably to help next quarter sales with the VAT increase hitting......

The denotation VR-7 conjures up connotations of a performance model, not an 89bhp run of the mill diesel!
